Galungan is a Balinese Hindu holiday. Streets across Bali are lined with tall, curved bamboo poles called penjor, which stay up for the ten day period that follows.
Families pray at home shrines and village temples, many people wear ceremonial dress, and households make daily offerings. Kuningan, ten days later, is marked by giving yellow rice.
